15 October 2010
From 18th to 20th September, we picked the grapes from our plot at Pierreux at the foot of Mont Brouilly in the Brouilly appellation area. Though the quantities were moderate, the quality was top grade.
Then, from 21st to 28th September, the picking team worked in our plots of Fleurie and Moulin à Vent. Pierre-Marie Chermette was pleased because the natural potential alcohol content was at between 11 and 13° in the Crus.
On 29th September was the turn of the hundred-year-old plot in Vaux en Beaujolais, which gave magnificent concentrated grapes in small quantities. They will make up part of our Coeur de Vendanges cuvée. After that, the harvesters came back to Southern Beaujolais to gather in our Chardonnay in Oingt and Le Bois d'Oingt. The natural potential alcohol for our Chardonnay is between 12.5 and 13°.
Finally, from 30th September to 6th October, everyone moved to Saint Vérand. The pickers were pleased not to have to travel very far anymore. We harvested our Gamay as well as two little plots of Chardonnay. The quality of the grapes in Saint-Vérand was similar to that in 2009. Pierre-Marie Chermette was very happy about it.
