Born in the house of Vissoux, he grew up in the estate vines. As a child, he particularly liked “riding the tractor”. At the age of 20, in 1980, he got a National Diploma of Oenologist from Dijon.
At 22 he takes over from his father who was selling his wine in bulk to merchants. He invests himself fully in the family winery by developing the marketing of bottled wines. Over the years, he increased the vineyard surface from 14 to 50 hectares by diversifying the appellations.
The head of Famille Chermette winemaking, he devotes himself to multiple tasks but he is particularly fond of vinification and blending.
After a master degree in Applied Foreign Languages English-German, a postgraduate diploma in foreign trade at the University Lyon III, a MBA at the École Supérieure de Commerce de Lyon, Martine Chermette worked at Laboratoires Boiron for a few years. She likes this natural approach to health.
Her mother transmitted her taste for nature and good products. She is passionate about authentic and natural wines from Pierre-Marie Chermette. Since 1990, she has developed communication within the SARL Pierre-Marie Chermette as well as the marketing of the estate wines in France and the export.
From her father she inherited the interest for arts. For several years, she organized tastings combining them with the exhibitions of painters and sculptors.
His studies are interspersed with winemaking in Australia, New Zealand, California and at Domaine du Vissoux. Following the footsteps of his parents, in 2017 he joined the family estate.
In charge of winemaking, he also takes care of vine growing and commercial development in France and abroad. His versatility is an asset for the estate.
