Harvest forecast 2017
Our vines suffered a serious spring frost in Saint Verand thus moderately reducing the crop of Beaujolais.
Since the month of May, we have exceptional conditions with a warm and dry weather.
Hence, the vines are not suffering from any disease and the harvest promise to be early this year ; the last week of August.
On this basis, the Beaujolais Primeurs should be quite concentrated with a high quality.
Regarding the vintages, the harvest forecast seemed very nice.
As you must know, there were a hailstorm at the beginning of July in the vintages of Baujolais and our vines have been partially affected.
We are lucky compared to some of our neighbours whose vines have been totally destroyed.
Fortunately, we don’t have any parcels situated in the hail « way » that totally destroyed the vines, as you can see on the picture of the vineyard of Fleurie.
Below is a picture of the village of Fleurie ; at the bottom of the picture is the vine of Garants.
As you can see on the pictures below, our vines of Poncié have been saved.
For now, it is complicated for us to forecast the volume of the next harvest.
