At Domaine du Vissoux the wine has concentration of beautiful black fruits.
The harvest this year was late due to a delayed summer. Spring was nearly inexistant allowing for perfect flowering on the vines. The weather was warm in September creating perfect maturity for the fruit. However sorting the grapes was necessary in the vineyard and in the winery. Vintage 2013 will be a great vintage in Beaujolais.
Sierra is a young Californian who was very motivated to come from Australia to work with us. She has been a dynamic addition to Vissoux, assisting Pierre-Marie during the harvest and vinification. She also helped us with the tasting description of Beaujolais Nouveau 2013.
Beaujolais Primeur Les Griottes : Aromas of violets and light musk fill the glass and intoxicate the senses. The mouth fills with cranberries and rich purple flowers that coat the pallet with soft fine tannins. The slight touch of acid lingers in the mouth and creates a lengthy finish.
Beaujolais Primeur Vieilles Vignes :The first smell is of black muscatels and the childhood memory of picking wild berries. on the pallet the cheeks are instantly filled with the perfume of winter roses and japanese plums. This wine has great balance and is extremley feminine.
Beaujolais Primeur Rosé : The first sip is an instant sensation of strawberries and cream, followed by bubblegum and a unique minerality due to the limestone clay. The nose lifts from the glass with bright soft acid and the smell of summer red fruits.
